Hi there, I'm Bryan, a Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native, Expo, iOS & Android) with 5+ years building production mobile apps for startups — from 0 to 1 and beyond.

I've worked closely with product and backend teams to deliver high-quality mobile experiences aligned with each startup's stage and constraints. I focus on understanding the technical and product trade-offs that matter most at each phase.

Currently, I'm building Hostly, an AI-powered app that helps short-term rental hosts make data-driven redesign decisions before investing in photographers or renovations.

Previously, I've worked on sports platforms, AI-powered apps, fintech, and utility apps serving large customer bases — shipping React Native and Expo apps to both App Store and Play Store.

    • Built the mobile app foundation with React Native, Expo, Expo Router, and TypeScript, defining navigation, UI structure, and core product flows.
    • Implemented AI-assisted listing analysis workflows for photo evaluation, redesign opportunities, and host-facing recommendations.
    • Built the backend data layer with Prisma ORM and Neon Postgres, modeling core entities and supporting the app's listing analysis flows.
    • Set up production observability and delivery workflows with Sentry, Vexo Analytics, and OTA updates through EAS Update.

    Led the mobile architecture and delivery of an AI-powered emotional support app from concept to launch using Expo, React Native, Expo Router, and TypeScript.

    • Owned core mobile systems including authentication, onboarding, AI chat, case management, subscriptions, API/data architecture, observability, testing, and OTA delivery.
    • Built a secure and scalable client architecture with React Query, SecureStore, Sentry, Singular, Vexo Analytics, Jest, React Native Testing Library, Maestro, and EAS Update.
    • Managed mobile release workflows for Apple App Store and Google Play, including build profiles, store submissions, OTA updates, and production/staging release coordination.
    • Partnered closely with the CEO and backend team to define mobile architecture decisions, cross-platform best practices, release strategy, and secure entitlement handling for IAP/subscription access.
